Vidyut Jammwal is known for making his own rules and following his beliefs in an otherwise norm driven business. The action hero has always stood by his instincts and it was due to that, that the hunky actor decided not take part in Sujoy Ghosh’s The Devotion of Suspect X. The film is based on a novel and stars Saif Ali Khan and Kangana Ranaut.
Vidyut’s reasoning seems clear. He said, “I didn’t see myself in a film of this genre,”. He further adds, “I’d met Sujoy a few times but I hadn’t signed any contract or committed myself to the film. It (the story) sounded interesting but it just wasn’t for me. Sujoy is a great director with an amazing sensibility and I’d like to work with him in the future”.
Vidyut has two films; one is almost ready for release while the other will start filming soon. Yaara, which is directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia is nearly done. Vidyut has been paired opposite Shruti Hassan in the film. Commando 2 is the second film and will start shooting soon. The film is produced by Vipul Shah.
Speaking about Yaara, Vidyut said, “I’m really excited about Yaara. It’s been a tremendous experience playing characters that span age groups across every aspect. The vibe on the sets is so positive and everyone is very upbeat about the film. Working with Tishu sir again has been a phenomenal experience and I’ve gained such nuanced learning from him which are hard to explain in words.
When asked about the sequel to his successful action film which the makers are hoping to create a franchise out of, Vidyut says, “Commando was very special to me and will always be. I’m hoping the sequel takes the franchise forward on an even larger and grander scale. Vipul Shah is at the helm of the project so he is the only person who can speak to you about the finer details.”
