This season of Koffee with Karan, hosted by Karan Johar, has definitely brought some very interesting and juicy moments with the stars. The next Bollywood persona to grace the show is superstar Akshay Kumar! The action hero will make his first appearance on chat show Koffee with Karan on Sunday, 26th January (UK). In true Akshay style, the mood stayed light, and he even managed to catch Karan off guard! The TV host and renowned filmmaker Karan Johar, who has previously quizzed Bollywood stars such as Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, was definitely in for a surprise when Akshay turned the tables around on him and put him in the hot seat!
The episode was full of tantalizing revelations and interesting tidbits of information about the superstar’s life, as Akshay and Karan played a verbal game of cat-and-mouse. In fact, Karan Johar even revealed he’s got a bit of a crush on Akshay’s wife, Twinkle Khanna! Akshay, who reportedly previously refrained from appearing on the show due to concerns that he isn’t exciting enough, made the show as enjoyable for Karan as it was for the viewers after giving him some scintillating answers.
The episode was a hit with viewers, who were said to have been ecstatic, when the episode aired in India on the 19th of January. What added to the buzz was Akshay’s comment on Twitter:
“Not a coffee drinker but here I am on the sets of Koffee with Karan, with Karan trying his best to make it a steaming one,” already proving contentious.
Akshay looked suave and sported a styled yet unkempt look on the show. ‘Akki’ immediately expressed his ‘dislike’ for the format of the show and teased Karan throughout. It was indeed a rare delight to have Akshay appear on the show, as the normally shy star does not regularly appear live on shows apart from during his film promotions.
