New York City’s India Day Parade is about to get a lot more glamorous! CBazaar, the premiere online retailer of ethnic clothes from India, will be hosting a live fashion show on their parade float as it comes down Madison Avenue! The fashion show will include both male and female models showcasing sampling of CBazaar’s impressive 16,000 selections of sarees, lehngas, gowns, sherwanis and suits.
“We are honored to be a part of the largest India Day celebration outside of India!” says Rajesh Nahar, CEO of CBazaar. “Manhattan is the fashion capital of the world, and it’s only fitting that we hold a fashion show on the streets of this amazing city while celebrating India’s independence.”
This is the first year the parade will feature a live fashion show. Models will be walking down a runway that will be built onto the float. DJ Ripple will provide live music while hair and makeup will be done by Lily Rivera of BridalGal.
This year’s parade is scheduled to run down Madison Ave. from 38th to 28th street, beginning at 11:30am on Sunday, August 18th. This year’s Grand Marshall is Bollywood Actress Vidya Balan. Will you be attending this year’s festivities? Leave us a comment below letting us know!
