Bollywood Music What's Happenin'

Arjun remakes “Tum Hi Ho!”

Award winning British Asian singer, songwriter and producer Arjun releases a new remake to the hit track “Tum Hi Ho.” True to his trademark style of fusing contemporary pop / R&B sounds with well known Bollywood hits, Arjun returns with another incredibly unique reworking. His take on ‘Tum Hi Ho‘, the chart topping Bollywood ballad from the movie ‘Aashiqui 2’, is an edgy and spellbinding version, cleverly combining his own English lyrics as well as Usher’s “You Got It Bad” and supporting Hindi vocals from Rekha Sawhney. Check it out!

Arjun’s version of ‘Tum Hi Ho’ features him singing in Hindi for the first time and the video has already had over half a million hits in under 1 week! Proving to be an online sensation Arjun has now amassed in excess of an incredible 22 million YouTube views on his channel and picked up the Best Urban Act accolade at last year’s Asian Music Awards. He is managed by leading UK music management agency Crown Talent (Jessie J, Sugababes, Talvin Singh etc). Arjun says,

“Thanks for the amazing response to the Tum Hi Ho remix! I think it’s important to push yourself to try new things and as I’ve had a lot of people asking me to sing in Hindi, I thought I’d give it a go! ‘Tum Hi Ho’ was probably the most difficult remix I’ve done because to me the original song is so incredible.”

He adds:

“It’s one of those songs that is really pure & minimal in terms of production yet full of emotion, meaning that it is very difficult to remix without taking away the beauty of the original song. I decided to experiment and once again push myself to do something different musically, and as my background is in R&B/Pop music, I applied my own formula to the song and decided to incorporate elements of one of my favorite R&B ballads – ‘You Got It Bad’ by Usher. To me the two songs are both equally meaningful and therefore work really well together.”
