Move aside remixes, we have more tunes to check out and load up on the ipod! Mere Dad Ki Maruti is taking its new version of the title track to a whole new stomping level. Music Producer Nucleya energized the track with an indie twist that gave it a kick-ass new sound and video!
Stomp is a funky new genre of music created using everyday instruments and body parts for percussion. In this case, Nucleya innovatively uses parts of a Maruti – from doors, bonnets, ignition sounds, hubcaps, power-windows and more to create a groove. Married with ‘Beatboxing’ – created using mouth, lips, tongue – it’s a sound that’s been used for the first time ever in Bollywood. Nucleya has been a part of one of India’s most popular bands and has also opened for some of the world’s biggest DJs like David Guetta.
The MDKM video features some of India’s best B-boyers alongside the leads of the film, Saqib Saleem & Rhea Chakraborty. The video is choreographed by Tony Kundu, who has worked with the likes of Madonna, Saturday Night Live, Cirque du Soleil and the famous AR Rahman Jai Ho World Tour.
Saqib said, “The energy of this song and the video hits you like a hurricane… Rhea and I had a blast shooting the video as these incredible dancers started their backflips, trips and more. It’s something really trippy to watch out for!”
Nucleya added, “Stomp involves the use of non-traditional instruments to create a sound, and was something I always wanted to try. This track gave me the wings to do just that, and the result was phenomenal. This track is the first of its kind in Bollywood and I am sure will have everyone on their feet.”
Check out this track and get ready for an outrageous comedy set against the backdrop of a loud Punjabi wedding in Chandigarh. MDKM tells the story of a boy who sneaks his dad’s fancy new car out to impress the college hottie and how all hell breaks loose when he loses it! Trust me it will make you loose it! Check out the remix and the movie which is all set to release worldwide this Friday in theaters!
