About 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji

The 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji, the first Sikh Guru, is being celebrated with great devotion and fervor since 23rd November 2018 by the Government of Punjab. The main function will be held at Sultanpur Lodhi from 1st to 12th November 2019. Various developmental works worth more than Rs. 3200 Crores have been initiated by the State Government across the state. Special Projects are being undertaken in 70 villages and towns visited by Guru Nanak Dev Ji. His birth is celebrated worldwide as Guru Nanak Gurpurab on Kartik Pooranmashi, the full-moon day in the month of Katak, October–November.

Nanak traveled far and wide teaching people the message of one God who dwells in every one of His creations and constitutes the eternal Truth. He set up a unique spiritual, social, and political platform based on equality, fraternal love, goodness, and virtue.
