The entire country of India is torn right now. The world is watching minute by minute worried for them. People are suffering to breathe and find a bed. Many have come together through the word of mouth on social media to find resources. Celebs and people from overseas try and help in any way. One couple is doing just that. Television celebrity, activist, and ex-participants of Bigg Boss reality show Tehseen Poonawalla is doing his bit. He and his wife Monicka Vadera Poonawalla are both coordinating and trying to the best of their ability to help the people who are in need of oxygen and hospital beds.
In these difficult and unprecedented times when India is struggling with the COVID-19 virus, people from across the country are trying to do their bit. Tehseen’s timeline is full of people asking for help and the couple has been trying their best to help them. When asked, Tehseen said
”Getting oxygen and hospital beds is a human right. It is hard to see how people are struggling for this. It is our duty to try and help, this is all we can do. Monicka and I are duty bound to try. Whenever we are able to help a person who is in need, we feel blessed. In times like these it is important to keep trying and help as many people as we can.”
Thanks to the power of social media, the couple are leveraging their massive reach and following on social media to ensure coordination and pressure on authorities to act. Monicka also tweeted recently,
“Good Morning Twitter Fam. @tehseenp & I are resuming our refill drive.Valid ID proof and medical documents are a MUST to deter fraudulent/non-genuine requests and to help expedite your request as supply is limited with the vendor.”
It is now hospitals that are reaching out to the celebrity couple. As oxygen runs out in hospitals in Delhi the power couple is using all their resources to ensure oxygen reaches the hospitals and lives are saved. Hospital and their owners are now thanking the two for saving hospitals and patients. Monicka adds, “we are doing nothing. It is our duty to help and reach out, we are fellow citizens and we need to stand with one another at this juncture ”
