Since we were young (I’m a 90s kid) many supernatural shows have been telecasted on our idiot boxes but it seems like the trend is at its peak at the moment. From 90s horror shows like Anhoni, Aahat, Fear Files, Ssshhhh…Koi Hai, we now have shape shifters, daayans and others ruling our charts. As of 2018’s Week 80 BARC rating, Ekta Kapoor’s Naagin 3 is at No. 1.

Naagin 3
This supernatural show of 2018 is the third installment in the Naagin series by Ekta Kapoor on Colors. This show is full of naags and naagins (shape shifting snakes people), eagles, mongooses and more. In spite of things like this show is at the apex of television ratings in urban areas of the country.

Nazar
This show that is telecast on Star Plus has a mix of the supernatural but nothing like that of Naagin. Nazar features daayans, a Daavansh, chudails and much more. A show centered around a half human-half daayan (the person is called a Daavansh) trying to be good but being pulled towards being bad.

Manmohini
One of the most recent additions to the list of supernatural shows on Indian television is Zee TV’s Manmohini. This show set in Rajasthan is about a 500-year-old witch who creates havoc in the lives of newlyweds while wanting to reunite with her lost lover.

Qayamat Ki Raat
Another supernatural show by Ekta Kapoor, Qayamat Ki Raat is telecast on Star Plus. This show deals with an evil century old tantric who first wanted to make love to first Gauri’s mother and now her in order to gain access to the mystical Shaaligram.
