Punjabi film actress Isha Rikhi is all set to make her mark in Bollywood. The Punjabi kudi who won heart in films like Jatt Boys Putt Jattan De, Happy Go Lucky, and Ardaas will be making her Bollywood debut with Remo D’Souza’s upcoming flick Nawabzaade.
Isha’s parents always wanted her to be an actress and they encouraged her on each step of her career.
Her mother desired to be an actress but she could not, so she wanted her daughter to fulfil her dream. Isha started her modelling career when she was in class 12. Her father died when she was in her teenage. Before starting her modelling career, she worked at an event management firm. Initially, Rikhi had no interest in acting and she had framed a very negative image of the film industry in her mind but her perspective changed once she started working as an actress. She has featured in various hit Punjabi music videos including “B.A Fail” by Preet Harpal, “Ik Saal” by Jassi Gill, “Hero ” by Jordan Sandhu, and “Bamb” by Sukh-E and Badshah.
Speaking of her entry in Bollywood and her character, Isha Rikhi said,
“I have received a lot of appreciation and warmth for my work in Punjabi films and expect to entertain the viewers equally with my first Bollywood film and receive the same kind of response.”
“I play an innocent, girl next door who steals the hearts of three friends essayed by Raghav Juyal, Puneet Pathak and Dharmesh Yelande. Hence, I am happy to have received such a role because I always wanted to play such characters. I did not want to make my debut in a glamorous avatar. A script that would bring out my talent and acting skills is what I wanted and I got exactly that.”
Presented by T-Series and produced by Remo D’Souza under Remo D’Souza Entertainment and directed by Jayesh Pradhan, Nawabzaade will hit the screens on 27th July 2018.
