Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Fawad Khan have been on a roll promoting their upcoming flick, “Kapoor and Sons Since 1921.” During a recent video press conference, the trio revealed more details about their characters, how they relate to them and their real life sibling rivalries!
Sidharth Malhotra said he does relate to his character because his family is very similar to the Kapoor’s of “Kapoor and Sons,” he does have an older brother in real life as well and has been the black sheep of the clan, just like his character. He didn’t have a wild grandfather like Rishi Kapoor but he did have a pretty cool grandmother. He didn’t face much sibling rivalry as his brother and he always had different interests. It wasn’t until after college that his parents started comparing him and to his brother’s success, that was the only bit of rivalry and jealousy he faced. When we asked himm to describe his character in one word he simply replied, “goofy!”
Fawad Khan actually relates more to Sidharth’s character than his own! Fawad said that he was the youngest and the only boy, he was a bit of the outcast just like Sid’s character Arjun is. Fawad says he was always jealous of his older sisters.
“I was jealous of my elder sisters because of all the privileges and freedom that they had,” said Fawad.
Fawad also said that he relates to the empathy his character, Rahul, has. When we asked him to describe his character in one word, Fawad said, “the perfect bacha!”
Alia Bhatt, however, said she never really faced much sibling rivalry and she’s very close to her sister. Alia said she is also close to her half siblings Pooja and Rahul. Alia mentioned that what she has in common with her character is their deep love for their family and she really admires her character’s “Zest for life.” When we asked, Alia described her character, Tia, as “very jovial.”
