Producer Siddharth Kumar Tewary has pulled off a casting coup of sorts this coming week. Tonight, the show will see the entry of Vrishasen, Karn’s eldest son and to give fans of the show a visual treat and in a move that is very rarely seen on Indian television, the show will see actor Basant Bhatt, who played 17-year-old Karn earlier, now re-cast in a new avatar as Karn’s son Vrishasen. Bhatt, who played the teenage Karn is excited by this new development.

“I am very excited to be part of Suryaputra Karn. This is a good role and very challenging for me. I am really happy that Siddharth sir thought of me again and gave me another opportunity. I hope the fans love it!”

says Basant.

According to Swastik Productions’s creative team, the requirement of the story was such that they had to cast an actor who would be able to match the energy of Karn in the same frame. Who better than the same actor who played his younger version? Especially since father and son will be taking opposing stands on the priorities a man should have in his life.

Karn has always been a character who has stood for the betterment of society and gave his life for that, but in doing that, according to Vrishasen, he neglected his family and children. So now father and son come face to face to debate this. In a way, both are correct in their beliefs,”

says Siddharth Kumar Tewary.

He feels this is going to be very exciting for the fans because it is a double treat. It may be recalled that Basant was quite popular when he was on the show earlier.

“It will be as if the younger Karn has returned!”

adds Siddharth.

Wow isn’t this exciting!
