With the onset of the awards season, it’s honors galore for Eros International’s 2015 releases. Having just ended the year with their crowning glory, Bajirao Mastani, Eros International announced a clean sweep and an outstanding total of 16 awards for their films at the prestigious Sony Guild Awards held last night in Mumbai.
Eros’ latest epic Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Bajirao Mastani that released on December 18 to thundering applause from media and audiences worldwide won a grand total of 9 awards. Sanjay Leela Bhansali won Best Director and Ranveer Singh took home the Best Actor Award. The film also won Best Cinematography, Best Art Direction, Best Sound Design, Best Costume Design, Best Dialogue, Best Choreography and Best Actor in a Supporting Role.
The biggest blockbuster of 2015, Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan won 5 awards including Best Film, Best Screenplay, Best Story, Best Actor in a Supporting Role and Best Child Artist.
While Deepak Dobriyal of Tanu Weds Manu Returns, the super hit family entertainer, grabbed an award for Best Actor in a Comic Role, Nawazuddin Siddiqui won Best Actor in a Negative Role for Badlapur.
With an unparalleled number of critically and commercially successful films this year, Eros International continues to dominate the awards and the box office charts.
