#12DaysOfChristmas Day 10- What the crib?

Spread the love

Most of you may know it as Jesus’ manger or the nativity scene, but we Indians like to call it the Christmas Crib. Reflective of the vibrant culture of India, Jesus’ crib is decorated with fine linens and jewels before being placed outside of churches and homes in India.

Surrounding the crib are statues representing the nativity scene which was first created by Roman Catholic priest Saint Francis D’Assisi (Saint Francis of Assisi). The scene includes baby Jesus, Joseph, Mary, The Three Kings, The Wise Men and livestock found in the manager.
