Welcome to the first edition of Smoothie Sunday! We’ll be bringing you a smoothie recipe, that we’ve actually tried and love the first Sunday of every month! This month our pick is a fresh Kale and Apple smoothie that is super easy to make and it is super refreshing.
I know some of you are hesitant to try kale but trust me when I say you don’t even taste it! In a smoothie Kale just adds a leafy scent to the drink, most of the taste comes from the apple which is fresh and sweet! Kale is the super vegetable that everyone’s been talking about and with good reason there are tons of benefits to adding a bit of Kale to your diet.
- 1 cup of fresh Kale
- 1 whole Apple (peeled and chopped)
- 1/2 cup of ice
- Almond Milk (optional)
- 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
- Protein powder (optional)
This Kale and Apple smoothie is very simple! Take a cup of fresh Kale with the stems peeled off and throw it into your blender. Add in one whole Apple that is peeled and chopped, some ice and blend! If you’d like it to be a bit creamy you can add a splash of Almond Milk and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice. If you’re working out you can even add in a protein powder mix to the drink.
The end result is a fresh smelling smoothie that tastes like sweet apples. Try it out and let us know if you enjoyed it!
