Akshay Oberoi is learning boxing these days for his film Gurgaon, where he’ll be seen in the lead role. Akshay will be seen in a totally new look in the film, where he plays a local Haryanvi boy.
His character is supposed to be rough and tough and interestingly, while he’ll not be seen playing a boxer in the film, the director wanted his look and physique of that of a boxer. Akshay has been training hard in boxing these days and has been following a specific diet.
Interestingly, to get his boxer’s look right, Akshay has hired a boxing trainer in Hayana itself. While he was suggested by many to train under some international boxers, he opted for a local Haryana boxer over other. Source close to Akshay says,
“Most of our biggest names in Indian boxing come from Punjab and Haryana so while he was suggested to train under some big international names, he thought he’d rather train under a home talent on the land of boxers.”
