Actors Varun Dhawan and Huma Qureshi have condemned the slapgate incident that happened with model actress Gauahar Khan. In their opinion, the man, who slapped her, should be punished. Gauahar was Sunday slapped by an audience member while she was hosting a reality show “India’s Raw Star”. Several industry members have reacted strongly to the incident.
Varun and Huma, who were present at the trailer launch of their film “Badlapur”, too were asked to share their reaction.
Varun said: “It’s terrible. No one will support something like that. If I was there I would have definitely picked up the hammer against that guy and it’s a very cowardly act and that man should be punished.”
Huma termed it “a serious offence”.
“I think it’s a very serious issue, it’s about safety of women and how we look at them. Anybody who disrespect’s them or promotes any kind of violence against women should be punished. As a society we should condemn it,” Huma said.
Meanwhile, several other Bollywood celebrities like Farhan Akhtar, Sushmita Sen and Alia Bhatt have also come out in support of Gauahar Khan’s incident.
