Vir Das’ play Hotyr tory of India – VIRitten, presented by Ashvin Gidwani Productions has been appreciated by the audience worldwide. The play which won the audience’s hearts in Dubai and Johannesburg was staged to a packed house in Thane! And why not? The fresh take on Indian history is a comedic twist told from Vir Das‘ point of view. Vir Das kept the audience in high spirits with a perfect mixture of humor and history, speaking about the play he said,
“It is always a pleasure to receive such appreciation from the audience. It helps us give our best every time we go on stage. This show is our first in India after Johannesburg and it was a delight to perform here.”
Vir Das’ version of the Indian History received a standing ovation, thus making their first time trip to Thane a very successful and memorable one. History of India brings out the humor for the audiences in Vir Das’s crazy ways and fun-filled antics and dialogues. Featuring renowned actors Vir Das and Kavi Shastri, the play promises to take viewers on a journey back in time right from the Harappan civilization and the Vedas to the Mughal Era, ending with the oddities of the present day.
