The Indian Film Festival in Münster Germany better known as CHALO INDIA has proved to be successful its second year around. Dating April 25th to the 27th this festival displayed the diversity of Indian cinema to this date. The festivals opening session was honored with a special guest, director/producer Anurag Kashyap. Whom later proceeded on to present his latest film ‘UGLY’ at a sold out screening which though ended late did not stop the entire audience to stay back for a personal Q&A with Kashyap in which he spoke about his personal stories and experiences that were woven into the film.
Chalo India was also honored with other actors and filmakers from India for a Q&A session via skype. Amit Sadh, speaking about preperation for his role in ‘KAI PO CHE!’, and director of this years blockbuster movie ,’QUEEN’, Vikas Bahl in conversation about the comical leading lady’s absence in Hindi cinema.
Being in Germany did not stop the Bollywood fever with music and dance shows, Bharatnatyam and Bollywood workshops, and a variety of documentaries and films directly from Mumbai’s independent scene to modern hindi cinema. The festival proved to be a success once again and is looking forward to return in April 2015.
