Mast film! “Pyaar, pyaar, pyaar, or maar, maar, maar” is the best way to describe this latest gem from our beloved Shahid Kapoor and dancing sensation-turned-director Prabu Deva. Sadly this film has suffered some negative reviews from the Indian critics (who probably didn’t get their expected payoffs *cough* Tarun Adarsh*Cough* Bollywood Hungama *Cough*), but dont let that cause you to make the mistake of missing this film. Shahid Kapoor is easily one of the most consistent actors in the industry these days, who has delivered solid films from Ishq Vishk, Dil Mange More, 36 Chinatown to Jab We Met, Kaminey, Dil Bole Hadippa, and of course Phata Poster Nikla Hero. If you can’t already tell, Shahid Kapoor can do no wrong in my book. That said if you are one of those people that doesn’t like Shahid then stop reading and go back being a not fun person. If you are not one of those people then you will love Shahid’s new look, dancing, and of course truck loads of charisma.
The cinematography, songs, and costumes are excellent, and with Prabu Deva in the director’s seat do you really need me to comment on the choreography? Yes, the script could use some work, and yes, this is another one of the masala-macho-man films, but that all works in the end when Shahid Kapoor is at the helm. When you go to see this movie you really aren’t there to do much else than spend 2 hours enjoying Shahid do what he does best: entertain. Sonakshi Sinha did a decent job in this film. She still has some ways to go, but judging by her progress so far I am eager to see where she will go next. So go watch this film “Varna Main Violent ho Jaunga”
