New York City’s Basement Bhangra Queen, DJ Rekha is headed to Brooklyn this weekend for a very special event. The much loved DJ wil be christening the newly minted BRIC Media House and Arts Center in the fast-growing Brooklyn Cultural District.
Since 1979, BRIC has provided a creative home for the arts and artists in Brooklyn via Celebrate Brooklyn in Prospect Park. In support of the vital role BRIC plays in the borough’s cultural landscape, The City of New York has invested in in the BRIC House, a multidisciplinary arts and media center designed to support artists and engage the public. BRIC House serves as a true home for artists and audiences—a place where emerging and established artists can create work that deepens their practice and engages the diverse communities of Brooklyn.
A rockstar in her own field, DJ Rekha was the perfect choice for the BRIC Media House and Arts Center christening. The event will take place at 8pm and the BRIC House located at 647 Fulton Street (at Rockwell Place) on Saturday, Dec 14.
