More popularly known for the classy gangster or the stylish villain, Chunky Pandey has showcased a variety of roles and has been the force behind a number of successful films throughout his career for the past 2 decades. Yet, what makes the character of an actor stand out is when one is able to dig deep and discover who they truly are, when the cameras aren’t rolling.
This week, I caught up with Chunky Pandey for an exclusive interview prior to the release of Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Bullet Raja, which releases this weekend, starring Saif Ali Khan, Sonakshi Sinha and Gulshan Grover, alongside. What intrigued me about Chunky the most, was his humble and honest approach towards the work he’s done over the years and his experiences of working with some of the most legendary names in Indian Cinema. However, just like any other versatile actor Pandey confessed, that whilst reading the script to choose the films that he does, audiences change with time and therefore expect to be entertained through different genres, different dialogues and different messages.
That being said, Pandey has successful been able to deliver himself to the masses and lovers of his cinema over the years. We only hope that the successful run continues, with Bullet Raja crossing every barrier to breaks records in the coming weeks of its release.
