Producer Kumar Mangat was in talks with Saif Ali Khan for the film, Bad, which was to be directed by Prawaal Raman but it looks like Raman only had eyes for Randeep Hooda!
“When Prawaal first approached Kumar Mangat for the film, the producer showed interest in casting Saif as the lead actor. He suggested Saif would be ideal for the role. In fact, he had also finalised him for the role. But, Prawaal always wanted Randeep in the film. So he did not go ahead with the collaboration with Mangat,” says a source close to the film.
Director Prawaal Raman backed out of his collaboration with Kumar Mangat and asked Pooja Bhatt to produce his film as was convinced only Randeep Hooda suited the lead role.
Prawaal, however, considers it as a professional call and holds no grudges against the producer.
“You always plan a film and then have some producer to back it. It was almost two year ago that we were planning Bad together. Mangat is a wonderful man,” he says.
He goes on to praise the current producer of the film, saying
“It is a privilege to be associated with Pooja. She is one of the best producers to work with.”
So did they make the right choice in picking the right character for the film? I guess we will just have to wait and find out for the release of the film!
