Fashion Lifestyle What's Happenin'

Roberto Cavalli feels speechless after his visit to India!

As most of you may already know, Roberto Cavalli just recently opened a new boutique and the Cavalli Cafè in New Delhi! In line with the designer’s “global fashion store” concept as seen in London, Paris, Tokyo and New York, the 400 square-foot Roberto Cavalli flagship store is located at India’s luxury hot spot, the DLF Emporio Mall. It will be neighboring other upscale brands such as Giorgio ArmaniChanelCanaliErmenegildo ZegnaGucciJimmy ChooBurberry and others in addition to Indian designers including Rohit Bal and Tarun Tahiliani.

The launch party had an abundance of Indian divas and top Bollywood stars on the guest list, such as fashion icon Sonam Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut, Jacqueline Fernandez, former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen and Raveena Tandon. With Delhi’s swish set in full effect, guests were given a flavor of Cavalli Cafe offerings such as Cavalli wine, Cavalli Premium Italian vodka and chocolates, along with hors d’oeuvres.

After the launch party, his festivities continued as he attended a dinner hosted by one of the most prestigious families of New Delhi in his honor. He was so delighted by the whole experience that he mentioned in his blog-

“The special surprise was that each guest had to wear traditional Indian dress with the ladies in saris, so colorful, embroidered and imaginative!  I could be a good sari designer…I love them very much and, although they cover most of the female body, I find them very sexy!”

Cavalli chose to wear a long black Nehru jacket with a stiff embroidered collar.

“I felt like an elegant Indian, so privileged to have been invited to dress this way. A continuous fashion show of beautiful ladies in colorful saris, all gorgeous… all ages… all super special… wonderful… I was ecstatic!  I can assure you that it is not easy to make me feel these emotions!”
