If you’ve been watching Bigg Boss 6, you’re probably familiar with Sampat Pal, the leader of a feminist organization called Gulab Gang. With Pal at its head, the organization stands up for and helps women facing violence, domestic abuse, and other such social problems. While I’m sure actresses Juhi Chawla and Madhuri Dixit are all for women’s rights, at present, they have not joined the main organization, but rather have both been signed to a movie called “Gulab Gang”.
The movie, “Gulab Gang,” has been rumored to be based on Pal’s life, but this rumor has been denied by the director, Anubhav Sinha. He has further elaborated to the press:
“‘Gulab Gang’ is about two iconic female characters. I couldn’t have pulled off a better cast than the two most iconic female stars, Madhuri and Juhi, together for the first time on Indian screen. My film is an action and drama piece with two women at loggerheads. I needed actors who would justifiably match up to each other, both in terms of their performance and stature. I think, this is the best the film could get, because the subject material is so strong.”
Either way, we don’t mind whether this rumor is true or not because we simply can’t get over the fact that Sinha has managed a major casting coupe to cast two fantastic actresses, Juhi and Madhuri.
Several actresses were around in the 1980s and 1990s, but Juhi and Madhuri, who were at the top of their careers, were always in the press as to who would take the #1 crown. Back then they were rivals, but now, the industry has reached a phase where actresses can easily coincide with one another. Luckily, both actresses have managed longevity in the industry.
Fans of the actresses always dreamed there would be a movie that showcased both of them together, and now their wish has finally been fulfilled! So, do you think you will go see “Gulab Gang“?
