Bollywood What's Happenin'

Ready for a DELHI SAFARI?

Jungle animals break loose and “party sharty” in the brand new music video for “Jungle Mein Mangal” from the upcoming 3D animated comedy DELHI SAFARI, which opens in theaters next Friday, October 19th.  Directed by Nikhil Advani, who has had the magic touch with blockbusters like Kal Ho Naa Ho and Salaam-E-Ishq, now enters new territory with an animated movie!

This new music video brings the viewer behind the scenes to show how some of Bollywood’s most popular on-screen stars performed the voices for the year’s most outrageous cartoon animals!  The ground-breaking film provides comedic fun for audiences of all ages and features an all-star voice cast including Govinda as a militant monkey, Akshaye Khanna as a rogue parrot, Urmila Matondkar as a determined queen, and Boman Irani as a know-it-all-bear.

Released in North America by Applied Art Productions, DELHI SAFARI won the Best Animated Feature Film award at FICCI FRAMES 2012 and has been endorsed by PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).  Not to mention, DELHI SAFARI is going to be released in 3D, so you’ll be able to experience the madness in great clarity and with bigger visuals!

DELHI SAFARI is India’s answer to animated films like the Lion King, but with a broader social message about being kind to animals.  If you’re not sure what the movie is about, check out the synopsis below as well as the trailer!

SYNOPSIS: It’s just another day for the animals of Borivali National Park… well, all except Yuvi, the young leopard cub. For him it is going to be a life changing day. For today is the day that he will learn the importance of tradition from his father Sultan – Leader of the Leopards. Sadly, his lessons will remain unfinished and end in tragedy, as Sultan is hunted down and killed by humans, whose only agenda is to clear the forests, kill the animals, and construct multi-story buildings.

So begins the story.  Join Yuvi and a cast of hilarious animals as they decide to take their petition to the leader of the humans in Delhi… the ministers that work in the parliament. To reach this impossible achievement they must do two things. One – kidnap Alex the parrot who can speak the language of the humans and so will become the voice of the animals. And two – travel from Bombay to Delhi. The journey across the country becomes a journey where enemies become friends and a family comes together to fight for what rightfully belongs to them.

Cast: Govinda, Akshaye Khanna, Urmila Matondkar, Boman Irani and Suniel Shetty
