Music Director, Sneha Khanwalkar, who rose to fame in 2008 with the Abhay Deol-Neetu Chandra starrer, “Oye Lucky Lucky Oye,” seems to be on a luck trip as she gets none other than the King of Bhangra himself, Mr. Daler Mehndi, to croon a song for her next movie, Gangs of Wasseypur!
With such talents getting together – a hit music director from the heart of India and the Bhangra sensation from the North – they are sure to create something smashing and exceptional. The movie is directed by Anuraag Kashyap and is based on the coal mine mafia. The cast features Manoj Bajpai, Nowazuddin Siddiqui, and Richa Chadha.
Heralded as the King of Bhangra, Daler Mehndi, is acknowledged worldwide for delivering rocking Bollywood (as well as bhangra) tracks! In addition, to dominating Bhangra Pop and Bollywood, Mehndi has branched out into the realms of Sufiana. His music label DRecords has released Bismillah, and will soon release another Sufi album ‘Soul to Supreme’.
With such versatility, and in combination with a such a sensational music director, we are sure that the soundtrack of Gangs of Wasseypur will be a smash hit!
