Girl power in the British Asian music scene has often been something of a rarity. Look no further as Tasha Tah prepares to settle the score by unleashing her debut single ‘Haan De Munda’. Having been performing and recording professionally for over 3 years, Tasha has created a sound which compliments her vibrant, edgy and fiery image.
‘Haan De Munda’ captures Tasha singing in both Punjabi and English, and is a powerful track about a girl searching for the perfect partner. Produced by Mumzy Stranger, there is a heavy urban/dub-step beat running throughout, which is laced perfectly with Tasha’s Punjabi vocals to create a fresh sound. The track was written by Tasha Tah and features a verse from Junai Kaden, and the two have already performed it up and down the country over the last 2 months, becoming a fans favourite already.
Off the back of the release, Tasha Tah announces a record deal in India. She comments:
“Haan De Munda is my debut release. Having been a performing artist for the last few years, it’s nice to now have something ready to unleash to the world. I’ve been working hard in the studio with Mumzy Stranger, Surinder Rattan, Rude Kid and other great producers over the last few months and have created some really fresh and exciting music. I’m delighted to announce that along with the release of ‘Haan De Munda’ on Tiffinbeats Records this month, I’ve signed a record deal in India with EMI Records and will be releasing a lot more music in the New Year.”
‘Haan De Munda’ is released on iTunes on 15th December
