Perhaps one of the Biggest Bachchan-based events of the year – aside from the actual pending birth of Baby Bachchan – took place earlier this week on Tuesday at the Bachchan residence. The event was Aishwarya’s godh bharai (baby shower) ceremony. Aishwarya, now 8 months pregnant, looked her usual stunning self, enhanced further by the glow of an expecting mother.
In addition to immediate family (Aishwarya’s parents Vrinda and Krishnarajendra Rai, brother Aditya and his wife, and the Bachchans — Amitabh, Jaya and Abhishek’s sister), Ash-Abhi’s Bollywood family came to shower their blessing on Aishwarya too. In attendance were veterans like Saira Banu, who gifted a gold coin to her, Asha Parekh and Dimple Kapadia. Designers Neeta Lulla and Shaina NC attended, while make-up artist Mickey Contractor (of M.A.C.) helped Ash get ready.
The celeb attendance doesn’t stop there! Take a deep breath because this list is long! Others present from Bollywood were Urmila Matondkar, Twinkle Khanna, Bipasha Basu, Sonali Bendre, Manyata Dutt, Ritu Nanda, Neetu Kapoor, Neelam Kothari, Mana Shetty, Vaibhavi Merchant, Poonam Sinha, designer duo Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla and Karan Johar, among several other big names.
Of course, Ash’s fans were also busy showering her with blessings via social-media site Twitter. Abhishek seemed elated with the event and was thankful for the wishes, “Thank you so much for all the wishes for Aishwarya on her Godh Bharai. Read out some of your messages to her,” Abhishek Tweeted.
