The super-hit Jodi from Kitani Mohabbat Hai on NDTV Imagine is back again with a season 2 which premieres Nov. 1st!!

Kritika Kamra and Karan Kundra are back by public demand for a season 2 of their hit NDTV imagine show Kitani Mohabbat Hai. The launch episode, which airs at 8 p.m. tonight, will be an hour-long special.

“I want to clear once and for all that season 2 of ‘Kitani Mohabbat Hai’ is not a sequel” said Kritika Kamra. “It will be a totally new show with a new storyline. The love track of the show will be totally different. It can be called the second season of the show but not a sequel. A sequel means the continuation of where we left off. You can think of this as new wine in an old bottle.”

Ekta Kapoor originally began the show as a love story for the youth that will only last 7 to 8 months. Due to a dip in ratings, the show wrapped up in 6-7 months instead. Season 2 is said to run longer than season 1. Imagine has taken its sweet time producing season 2 focusing on all the little details and hunting down the perfect storyline. The show was originally set to release in July 2010. In an interview with Nikhil Madhok, Head Marketing and Communications at Imagine said

“We wanted to ensure that we have a good story that will keep the brand name of Kitani Mohabbat Hai on top.”

 

Madhok also said that “the biggest asset is the superb chemistry between Karan Kundra and Kritika Kamra.” Ever since Kitani Mohabbat Hai ended over a year ago, fans have been sending in letters and emails for their favorite show to come back. Kitani Mohabbat Hai is the first daily soap not only to have a season 2, but to also be demanded by audiences. Karan and Kritika have built such a loyal fan base in such a short time!

Although the storyline will be completely different from the original show, Madhok promises that there are somethings that will remain the same. “The factors that we carry forward from Season 1 are the chemistry between the lead pair, the magic that they are capable of creating on-screen. We will retain the same soundtrack of the show, as that was a big hit. The track has become a part of the KMH brand, and we do not want to separate it. You must be aware that the ring tone of Kitani was a massive hit.”
