NEXA The Spotlight, presented by Maruti Suzuki, delivered two contrasting runway stories at Lakmē Fashion Week in partnership with the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI). Winning designers Linetribe_ by Gaurav Jagtiani and Richa Khemka unveiled their collections at Taj Palace, New Delhi, under the theme ‘The Unseen’.

The showcase explored the stories, craftsmanship and perspectives that often sit beneath the surface of fashion.

What Is NEXA The Spotlight?

NEXA The Spotlight goes beyond the standard runway format. Designers build a larger world around their collections through fashion, set design and storytelling. For the October 2026 edition, ‘The Unseen’ turned attention to the work behind a garment, untold narratives, overlooked perspectives and emotions beneath the surface.

‘Pinnacle’ questioned traditional ideas of success and glamour. It looked at the journeys behind the personas people project to the world, and at how modern aspiration is increasingly tied to individuality, having a voice and making a difference.

The collection leaned on the label’s tailoring and construction strengths:

  • Structured, androgynous silhouettes balancing strength and vulnerability
  • Sharp outerwear paired with fluid inserts
  • Strategic cutaways offering glimpses of skin
  • Hand-executed quilting, symbolising the layers people build for protection
  • A restrained palette of blue, black and grey, with subtle ivory touches
  • Reimagined pinstripes and hand-dyed ombrés

Body positivity advocate Sakshi Sindwani closed the show. She wore a black power-shoulder pantsuit with vibrant green accents and the label’s signature ruching.

Gaurav Jagtiani, Founder and Creative Director of Linetribe_, said, “We often see the finished image, but rarely the experiences, vulnerabilities and personal journeys that shape it.”

Richa Khemka Unveils ‘Vesper’

Richa Khemka took a different route with ‘Vesper’, a collection about identity, reflection and transformation. Drawing on the visual language of noir, it played with light, shadow and refraction so that familiar forms took on unexpected dimensions.

Sculptural silhouettes, metallic surfaces and delicate sheer layers anchored the collection. Reflective finishes and fluid layers added movement, while the contrast between structure and transparency told the story of identity’s many facets.

Actor Diana Penty walked as showstopper in an embellished black bralette and a high-waisted black-and-white fringed skirt with a dramatic slit. A black cummerbund belt with silver embroidery defined the waist.

“‘Vesper’ is an exploration of the different layers of identity and how we continue to evolve through our experiences,” said Khemka.

Maruti Suzuki NEXA on Backing Emerging Talent

Thomas Cheriyan, Executive Vice President Marketing at Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, said NEXA aims to create experiences that go beyond the expected. He added that ‘The Unseen’ encourages designers to bring undiscovered stories and perspectives into focus, and he congratulated both designers on their presentations.

With ‘Pinnacle’ and ‘Vesper’, the October 2026 edition of NEXA The Spotlight showed how fashion, craftsmanship and storytelling can reveal what often goes unseen.
