That’s the world Netflix just opened up with the Akka Netflix teaser, released today as a birthday treat for Keerthy Suresh and her fans. The teaser introduces two formidable women at the heart of the story: Keerthy as Bhavani and Radhika Apte as Rudra. Akka premieres October 30, only on Netflix.
What Is Akka About?
Akka is an epic gangster saga where women take center stage. It’s set in the 1980s, in the richly imagined kingdom of Pernuru, a place built, governed and protected by generations of women. Add deep-rooted traditions, shifting power dynamics and simmering rivalries, and you have a world that runs on its own rules.

Keerthy Suresh plays Bhavani, and Radhika Apte plays Rudra. The teaser sets them up as two powerful forces in a kingdom with no room for outsiders, and the tension between them looks like the engine of the series. Tanvi Azmi also features in the key cast.
Who Is Behind the Series?
Akka is produced by YRF Entertainment and marks the directorial debut of Dharmaraj Shetty, who also wrote the series. Aditya Chopra, Yogendra Mogre and Akshaye Widhani are the executive producers.
