From running a business in his 20s to completing 10 years in the industry – Sohum Shah looks back on his ‘magical journey’
Sohum Shah, one of the best actors the industry currently has, has made his mark with every project of his. Be it his Talvar to his latest show, Dahaad, his acting has taken the audience by a storm of awe.
In a recent interview with a leading magazine, he spoke about how he at the age of 20, was running a business far from theatres and films. And now it’s been 10 magical years. During this period, he’s also worked with some of the other well-known and loved actors and directors of the industry, Mr. Irrfan Khan, Zoya Akhtar, Reema Katgi and Aanand L. Rai amongst many others.
He said, “ I come from a world where if we got to know that there was a shoot taking place 100 kilometres away, we would go to watch it. In my 20s, I was not doing theatre or film; I was running a business at that time. To come from that and complete 10 years in the industry, working on projects like Ship Of Theseus, and working with actors like Irfan Khan, feels like a magical journey.
I feel like God has been kind to me.”
His journey has not only been magical for him, but also for the masses that have witnessed his work, and to have seen him play such different characters.
We will next be seeing him in his production house, Sohum Shah Films venture ‘CrazXy. As he will take on new challenges, and continue to shine bright on the screen!
