On Teachers’ Day our favourite stars have expressed their gratitude towards their teacher.

Actors like Akanksha Puri, Pearl V Puri, Megha Ray, Jay Soni and Priya Banerjee spoke not only about their special memories with their teachers. Also the unforgettable advice given by them which they have held lifelong.

Akanksha Puri Says,

It is very important to have a good teacher in life and for every child. Learning begins at home and parents are their first teacher. I am blessed to have the best teachers in my life. Also, my favourite teacher who I am still in touch with is my safety instructor from my Aviation Training, Ms Andrea Ma’am. She has always been there for me, she introduced me to the real me. She prepared me to face the real world with confidence.

I have learnt a lot from her and not only from the books even outside the books she taught me real lessons of life. Every day spent with her was special and a new learning lesson. The unforgettable advice was once my teacher told me that on your answer sheet I can mark you right or wrong but in real life, you have to decide for yourself what is right and what is wrong and always believe in your RIGHT.

Pearl V Puri Says,

To have a good teacher in life is not a requirement it’s a necessity. In every phase of life, we need a teacher. To guide us through the right path, to help us see the truth. Our teachers have played a major role in making us what we care about today. Knowingly or unknowingly we have learnt so many things from them. My art teacher was my favourite. I have loved her creative perspective towards everything.

How even the simplest things were so unique in her vision. I have always been fond of art but she helped me fall in love with my craft too. With her help only I was able to know my creative interests. I will always be thankful to her for that. She always used to talk about how just with a different perspective. The whole reality changes and that is something I can never forget.

Priya Banerjee Says,

Growing up in Canada we never quite celebrated teachers day but I was always aware of it because of my family living in India. I’ve always thought it’s such a beautiful concept as we dedicate a whole day celebrating our teachers. It’s very important to have a good teacher as it helps us with the right guidance.

For me, I feel my own experiences in life have been my favourite and best teacher haha. I feel life and its experiences teach us the most important and best lessons. Not specifically from a teacher but someone had once said that always work hard for what you aspire. In life and never let go of your dreams even if it doesn’t let you sleep at night.

Megha Ray Says,

Every human’s structure as an adult depends on how it’s base was set in childhood. At home, parents and in the outside world – Gurus (teachers) help establish that base. Without a strong base, the whole edifice can collapse and that is how important a teacher’s role is. A good teacher can shape a child in such a way that he can function to its maximum potential in this world. There’s nothing else I’ve learned more from than life itself.

From my childhood days of dancing, I definitely remember Marzi Pestonji most fondly as one of my favourite teachers. He didn’t only believe in my dancing abilities but also encouraged me to give my best and that is something I can never forget. It is a priceless piece of advice which I always try my best to follow. ‘Always take responsibility for your actions and choose the path of truth’.

Jay Soni Says,

Yes, it is very important to have a good teacher in life. I have really been lucky that some of my teachers have taught me so much in life. I want to thank all my teachers. I want to mention a few of them, first is Ravi Sir who was my mentor and teacher. The one who taught me a lot and gave me an opportunity in my show called Sasural Genda Phool.

He believed in me and taught me so much and that’s what made me today who I am. He is not with us anymore. But I always remember him whenever people appreciate me in life with oh you were the guy in Sasural Genda Phool and appreciate my acting. He really taught me a lot.

He will always be special to me. Secondly, I would like to say thank you to the one person who transformed me from a fat and chubby boy to fit and toned, his name is Deepak Verma. My guru, my trainer, my teacher who taught me so much about fitness. So these two people, I really want to thank you. And yes, I want to thank my other teachers also. And then there are always some people who try to hurt you or demean you and I think they are also teachers. They teach you so much in life, all the hard lessons. I really want to thank the haters also as you all have taught me some or the other thing. Thank You for making me a better and a sensible person.
