African Essence is the new product on Glow TV. Only 12 weeks old and the team have made their mark. A current affairs show with Human interest stories. Due to covid there are many restrictions re filming. However African Essence has been able to shift change. Covering relevant and impactful stories from gender based violence, Covid19, organ donation, adoption, coping with loss and grief and more.

Without awareness and proper intervention lives are spiraling into oblivion. Many have certainly lost their will, their passion and are left helpless. African Essence surely the Vehicle used to create an opportunity for ordinary People to address and express their concerns regarding issues which affect their lives.

Melanie has certainly been instrumental in featuring and coordinating the success stories of many Celebrities’, Presidents, world icons, influencers, Game Changers and locals. Her most recent achievements include,

being the recipient of the Women of wonder awards for her. Contribution to the Media industry. She is also the nominee of the Margaret Hirsh women of the year award taking place in 2020. Melanie was the Hirsh’s August 2019 women of the month. Melanie trained under the banner of the SABC. She worked on numerous productions over the years, one of it being Mela on SABC.

Being one of the very few women of colour who does Product placement for feature films in SA, she also has worked on the hit Film Keeping up with the Kandasamy’s 1 and 2, with 2 other films in the pipeline. Melanie certainly known as Affluent and Prominent. She is most humbled by her work in bringing aid to indigent communities, highlighting their plight on Television.

The shows music is Produced by Creagen Naidoo a popular recording artist.

A year ago Melanie first had the idea of a show, he created the sigtune for the show. Which initially planned as a magazine show. Creagen creates original pieces of music for most of the segments on the show. Due to the hard hitting journalism he plays out at the end of every show to end with some light hearted and joy. The show airs every Fri at 8am/4pm and midnight. Sat and mon at 11pm only on Glow TV.
