In conversation with Helly Shah as she discusses lockdown, Ishq Mein Marjaawan 2 and more…
When one mentions Helly Shah, we immediately think of the words talented and versatile. In her 9 years of doing television, Helly has portrayed a variety of roles and it is this quality of hers that has brought her back on screens with Ishq Mein Marjaawan 2. The show was set to launch earlier the year, however with the arrival of the global health crisis, things simply had to take a backseat. As a result, Helly like many others spent the last 3 months in lockdown. Hence, we asked her how did she spend the lockdown period and whether she discovered any new hobbies. To which she responded, “Honestly, I don’t know if I have discovered any new hobby. Actually, I didn’t try anything experimental or anything new as I was alone in my house for almost two and a half months, and then I went to Ahmedabad. While I was alone, I just went with the flow. I have spent days where I was just couch potato, and some days were quite productive like I worked out, watched some good stuff on Netflix, and many other things. But later on, I realized my love for greenery and plantation. After that, I spent a lot of my time surrounding myself with plants, and that felt satisfying.” Well that sounds like a home adventure, doesn’t it?
With the lockdown being lifted and Ishq Mein Marjaawan 2 airing next week, we asked Helly how it feels to be back on sets after 3 months. To which she responded, “It’s a great feeling to be working again. Though a lot of things have changed, as per the precautions we are taking now but still, the excitement is the same. On the first day of shooting, I saw everyone with masks and couldn’t figure out who’s who and strangely, it felt different but still familiar.”
Ishq Mein Marjaawan 2 is unlike Helly’s previous serial, hence we asked her what can the viewers expect from this serial. To which Helly responded, “It’s a thriller show, and I have never done something like that. It’s a different genre for me, and the story is really intriguing. I believe that the promo has made the audience realise the adventure and thrill the show has to offer. It’s about a girl’s journey whose life has turned upside down and the story goes on from there and I believe it will be interesting for people to see her story.” Well we are certainly intrigued ourselves. If you’ve not caught the promo yourself, here you go folks. It is truly gripping.
The current environment is very much like a thriller, with chaos everywhere we asked Helly what is her mantra for staying positive and happy? To which she responded, “What really works for me I keep myself updated about everything going around but I don’t focus on unnecessary information that would leave me worrisome. We all know how important it is to take precautions and I take care of myself on the set and I just don’t get indulged in having unnecessary stress as we all know the seriousness of the current situation so I feel there is no need to put more things in your head. As it is required to take care of your immunity and I’m taking care of that. But honestly I don’t have a particular mantra as such.” Well there you have it folks, be informed but don’t stress.
Discussing stress, we asked the leading lady what her all-time favourite stress-buster is? To which she responded, it is food! Definitely, food is my all-time favourite stress buster. Talking about food, eating a different type of food and I’m the happiest person. Food always lifts my mood.” Well that is indeed a stress-buster indeed, don’t you folks agree?
In concluding the interview, make sure you folks don’t forget to watch Ishq Mein Marjaawan 2 which starts on 13th July, 7pm Mon-Fri only on Colors TV. Keep reading UrbanAsian and I shall be back with another article.
