Hash is a musician and producer born in Peshawar, living in Perth, and experimenting all over the world with his music. His work is similarly defined by a strong convergence of eclectic musical influences from the east and west, and this very experimentation of identity continues to define Hash as an artist today. A personal discovery of identity from a childhood in Pakistan, to teenage years in Australia – Hash’s music took similar journeys of confluence.

His earliest musical memories stem from Bollywood numbers his late grandmother loved playing, through to classical piano influences from his father. In his early teens growing up in Australia, Hash continued to explore the contemporary eastern music he had grown to love in Pakistan but now mixed with obvious western influences of music scenes in Australia, leading him down the path of pop, rock and post-grunge. The prominence of Hip Hop in the early 2000s attracted him to the genre, with the spillover effect of discovering R&B along the way.

By 2011, his inherent passion for experimenting with eastern influences in genres of hip hop and rock found Hash focussing on songwriting and vocal duties with the band ‘Delafuse’ as well as collaborating with the rock band ‘Talbees’ on their EP ‘Sa’il’ – an Urdu rock and hip-hop fusion.

By May 2017, Hash had reconciled his own musical identity and released season one of his self produced debut EP ‘See you in the winter’ – a body of work that consists of music written, composed and recorded in Perth, Western Australia. With the music video for his single “Closer” gaining international attention, Hash was invited to perform songs off his EP at desiFest – Canada’s largest South Asian Urban Festival at Yonge and Dundas Square – the heart of Toronto, Canada. After the show Hash spent time promoting his music in Los Angeles, California.

After returning back to his studio in Perth, Hash released his singles “SWTST GRL” and “Border Security”.

Hash is back with “Time Flies” after recent success with his single “Come Over”. “Time Flies” is a record that explores the importance of time within the context of a relationship, from when you meet someone to when you leave them. The song looks at a relationship from a point of view of the past, present and future.
