Abhishek Sharma, Kshitij Jalori And Sunaina Khera Opened Day Three At Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2019 With Diverse Fashion Directions. A contemporary touch to ancient Indian philosophy and history.

Abhishek Sharma’s “ARUP” collection inspired by the union of male and female forms.

Above all, celebrating fashionable contrasts. The designer kept the theme in tack for the silhouettes, colours, textures and embellishments. Abhishek then turned his gaze on the traditional Mithla paintings. He created an almost water colour like canvas. This he achieved skillfully using fluid chiffon and satin along with organza as well as handloom silks.

The colours too followed the contrasting theme as lotus pink and muted pebble suddenly came alive with hues of the night. To add excitement to the ensembles, Abhishek worked with yarn couching, appliqués, quilting, printing and then topped it all with very fine hand embroidery.

For women’s wear there was delicate work, layered blouses teamed with stylish slim skirts. While drapes appeared for slinky creations that were topped with cropped cascading dolman sleeved jackets.

“ARUP” Collection

The gentle pink mini with 3D embroidery an impressive opening, while the jumpsuit that followed along with the fringed mini topped with a sleeveless jacket. The asymmetric tunic with pants, added pizzazz to the collection. Fringed midi with a rouched, sleeveless jacket, embroidered long skirt. Plissé blouse, midi with wide belt was interestingly styled with a mini cape.

While the lehenga with a one-shoulder top offered variety for a festive wardrobe. More excitement on the ramp came in the form of a black/ white pencil skirt and black sheer top, another in the dual colours was a sheer lehenga and bralette, while an “A” line mini shift with the embroidered ‘hands’ motif were eye- catching.

Men’s wear was sharp with suits in strong masculine tones of brown, grey and beige. Jackets elegantly tailored and topped with winter coats. While the floppy lapel jacket with a waist coat and pants had a trendy vibe.

Closing the show was the lovely, elegant Suman Rao, Miss India 2019. Who floated on to the ramp in a slinky, black, halter, midi  and an impressive high shawl collar.

The “ARUP” collection by Abhishek Sharma offered a grand panorama of fine tailoring, sensual drapes and distinct style statements that will thrill the buyers during the coming season.

Kshitij Jalori : “Moulin Rouge” – Collection

Fashion and style can be inspired by several themes. For designer Kshitij Jalori it was the Art Deco movement of the 20th century that made his creativity soar with a collection called “Moulin Rouge” at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2019.

Kshitij outlined his design philosophy on the ramp with a showcase that brought forth sharp, clean silhouettes, which had the intricate architectural details that gave the indication of ARCO clothing series. With the patterns very stylized, geometric came into focus in a sophisticated manner.

The Roaring 20’s made a retro return with great contemporary vibes. There were large doses of opulence in the form of statement embroidery. Which featured floral and animal motifs in unconventional forms but in a totally balanced symmetry.

The jewel tone colours of green, red, maroon and black for the lush collection started with a tunic in green/red with the basic art deco motif. Stylish suits, some in brocade with a one-button jacket were followed by kurtas, coats with shawl collar and a black sari with an asymmetric figure-hugging blouse.

Polka dots and the arch motif appeared periodically for an empire line tunic, green sari with a luxurious silk coat. A kurta/pant suit styled with an elegant long coat.

Two men’s wear entries were bold. Black and gold kurta pant, scarf and another in green/gold kurta and pant. Followed the theme of the show.

Furthermore, the “Moulin Rouge” collection by Kshitij Jalori certainly unveiled the glitz and glamour of the Jazz Age. Adding value to wardrobes of fashionistas.

Sunaina Khera – ” Dear Mom” Collection

Sunaina Khera’s journey into the fashion industry started after graduating from NIFT New Delhi in 2016. The very crux of her collection has always been exquisite, fine embroidery that appeared at times experimental but always the heart and soul of her creations.

Her collection called “Dear Mom” was an ode to the most precious and important lady in her life – her Mother – at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2019. Using Indian motifs like florals and paisleys, Sunaina ensured that they presented in an unusual avatar, which has been her label’s USP.

Opening the show with a perky, brown, net, mini encrusted with appliquéd flowers, the designer followed it with a black satin sari and embellished long-sleeve choli. Soon there was a fashionable parade of pencil skirt with a body con choli, long-sleeved embroidered net mini, an embellished sheath, a shawl collar jacket and a trio of black lehenga, ornate choli and dupatta.

The high slit, long, pencil skirt with a key hole neckline, full-sleeved choli a seductive entry. A quartet of beige, fully embellished gown, white tulle sari and bustier and two dazzling lehenga/shimmering choli/dupattas ended the show.

Colours and techniques used were a fashion expression by Sunaina and a tribute to her Mother.

Feminine, graceful and timeless the “Dear Mom” collection by Sunaina Khera will be an adored possession for women.

Furthermore, Make up Expert Namrata Soni for the Abhishek Sharma, Kshitij Jalori and Sunaina Khera show kept the face contoured!A sheer blush used on the cheekbones to add a flush of colour. The eyes defined with a strong brow and heavy mascara. Glitter gold on the eyelid and bronze on the lower lash line added glamour to the look. The look completed with the Lakme Absolute Matte Revolution Lipstick in the shade Brazen Caramel.
