After dabbling in modelling and theatre, Ashoka Thackur is currently making waves in the OTT domain. He is seen in Ajay Siyaram Tiwari’s short film, Character, which dropped on MX Player recently.
Talking about the overwhelming feedback to the short, he says,
“I’ve got a very good response to my film. It’s coming on channels and live on MX player. This short film has opened the floodgates of opportunities for me. I am inundated with offers. It feels nice that my hard work has finally paid off. In fact, I’ve got calls from the team representing MX Player for their upcoming projects.”
The talented actor also bagged an award for his acting chops in Character. He shares,
“The film got the Lift India Award in the Best Music category. Any award is a validation and a form of appreciation and acknowledgment. I’ve also been selected for some awards in the Goa festival. I am elated with the response of the audience and am very grateful. The unit has worked hard on this project and I can’t thank everyone enough for showering us with so much love.”
While he is enjoying his time in the world of OTT, the latter has often been accused of resorting to vulgarity in the garb of pushing the envelope. Will he be comfortable baring it all for a series?
“I am not comfortable with the idea of bold content. I am focused on becoming a part of good concepts,” replies Ashoka, who featured in a single titled Badhi Hi Mushkil alongside Donal Bisht and in Naina Lage Tose, which was released on Independence Day.
