Rita Morar Releases Her Emotional New Single Saawan

After a six months hiatus, Rita is back with Saawan, an emotional Hindi Electronic Ballad.

Rita started to create Saawan which translates from Hindi to English into ‘Monsoon Rain’ months before Her Father tragically passed away suddenly to Lymphoma, a rare form of Blood Cancer last September.

As her Father became more silent and distant due to the illness, Rita was trying to find answers to all the questions in her mind which she incorporated metaphorically into the lyrics of Saawan. ‘Kaha Dhoondhoo Tujhe?’ translating into ‘Where can I find you?’ is an example.

Rita further explains:
‘As an artist, we are blessed with the ability to portray our emotions in our art in which my case is music. My Father had a real love for music especially Bollywood Film Music and my talent, where my parents nurtured me tremendously. Therefore, I wanted to create a piece to honour his departure and all the emotions/ love/ legacy that he has left behind. I hope the listener really connects with the waves of emotion Saawan brings within. It took me six months to complete because I really needed time to adjust and honour my Father’s absence to then be back to music as he played a pivotal role. Saawan to me, is ethereal and everlasting; it keeps on haunting me even when I have finished listening. This is the power of how Music Heals through lyric and melody.’

The song was brought even further to life with the phenomenal mixing and mastering by Hafod Mastering.
