Ganesh Chaturthi holds a special place in Ishita Dixit’s heart, and this year, the actress is celebrating the festival with a feeling of gratitude. Ishita, who is currently winning hearts as Pari in Star Plus’ popular show Anupamaa, opened up about her faith in Bappa, a wish that came true and the pressure she wants to let go of this year.
For Ishita, her faith became even stronger after an experience from two years ago. She recalls bringing Bappa home in Mumbai for three days and asking for something that was simple but very important to her at that point in life.
Talking about the wish that changed the way she looked at faith, Ishita Dixit shared,
“Two years ago, I brought Bappa home in Mumbai for three days. The only wish I made was that, over the next one or two years, Bappa should bring good work my way. I wasn’t asking for anything big. I just didn’t want to go back home. So, that wish came true, and it made me feel that my faith had truly worked.”
While work has brought her new opportunities, Ishita admits that she puts a lot of pressure on herself when it comes to her career and life. This Ganesh Chaturthi, she wants to let go of that constant pressure and trust that whatever is meant to happen will happen.
Sharing what she wants to surrender to Bappa this year, the Anupamaa actress said,
“I would like to surrender to the unspoken pressure that I give to myself a lot, regarding work, career, and life. I just want to surrender to him that whatever is going to happen will happen. Like it’s all Lord Shiva’s play or whatever people call it. I take a lot of pressure, so I want to surrender that to Bappa.”
Despite becoming a familiar face on television, Ishita Dixit feels fame has not changed the person she is. Talking about how she celebrates the festival after gaining recognition, Ishita said,
“I have never felt that fame or name has changed me as a person. I am the same person. I eat the same, I drink the same, I wear the same clothes. I talk the same way as I used to talk before. I know that useless things should not be put on our minds. Nothing is permanent in this life. You are also very temporary. We are all temporary in this life. I don’t think that fame has changed me in any way.”
She further added,
“The way I used to bring Bappa home, I still do the same. I do the same pooja; I do the same things in life. For my family also it’s the same. They also keep me very down to earth. I am not that kind of person.”
