I was speechless: Anupama Solanki on her show Kuch Reet Jagat Ki Aisi Hai going off-air

Anupama Solanki is disheartened to hear the news about her show, Kuch Reet Jagat Ki Aisi Hai, going off-air. Confirming the news, she revealed that low TRP is one of the main reasons for the plugs being pulled on the show, also adding that the ongoing IPL season is another factor that has affected their TRP.

Instagram will load in the frontend.

Anupama Solanki, who had joined the show on March 26, said,

“I was speechless when our producer, JD Majethia sir, announced four days ago that it’s time to wrap up. He said he was waiting until the marriage sequence to see if the TRP would increase, and if so, we would continue the show. However, since the TRP hasn’t increased, he has decided to end the show. Actually, the production got stuck because they had a lot of stock, and because of this, they were not able to mold the story. Everyone on set was crying, and everyone was extremely sad because the story was very good.”

“We all stayed like family on set. My entry was after the 30th episode, and it was supposed to start from the 18th episode, but due to some reason, I got a late entry into the show. There is one more big reason the show got off the air, and that is the IPL. Whenever there’s an IPL match, the TRP becomes almost nil on every channel. It’s not just about Sony; every channel suffers, including Star Plus, Colors, Star Bharat, Dangal TV, and many more struggling for TRP,” she added.

Sharing her disappointment, she further said that when a show goes off-air, a lot of people, including the actors, technicians, etc., go out of business until something new comes up.

“When any TV show shuts down, approximately 200 people have to find work from scratch. Our entertainment industry is not like other corporate industries. Once you get the job, enjoy it for 4-5 years, but in the TV industry, you have to start from scratch. Sometimes it takes a few months, and sometimes it takes years. There is no guarantee in this industry, but yes, when your stars are aligned, nobody can stop you from becoming a star overnight,“ she said.

She also praised the producer, JD Majethia, and said that he tried to cheer everyone up after the news broke out.

“I feel Kuch Reet Jagat Ki Aisi Hai has more potential than any hit show. I was surprised to see JD Majethia sir’s energy. He tries to cast each and every one personally. Small details matter to him. While everyone was crying on set, he was cheering everyone up. Just imagine the charm of JD Majethia sir, and his positive vibes and dedication. If anyone knows him personally, he or she will agree with me,” she said.

“But honestly speaking, I am not sad. These ups and downs are part of the industry. I believe in bouncing back. I am an extremely hardworking girl, and I believe in myself. Soon I will be back with a new show, and I believe ‘Jo hota hai achha hota hai aur jo hoga wo bhi achha hoga’ (Whatever happens, happens for the best),” she added.

Anupama Solanki says she enjoys playing a negative character on TV, but would love to play a positive character too. She said,

“In the last three shows, I played the main negative vamp, and I don’t mind playing it many more times because it is quite entertaining. It’s like you versus 100 people in a TV show, and honestly speaking, I enjoyed it because you get all the focus on you. But yes, I want to play a positive role because my face has a positive side as well. I am just wishing that the right casting director will see this side of me as well, like I played Mohini in Vighnaharta Ganesha and SAB TV’s Maddam Sir.”
