Aamir Ali dazzles with ‘Pehla Nasha’ Waltz act on ‘Jhalak Dikhla Ja 11’: “You held back my respect,” says Farah Khan

This weekend took an interesting turn in a gripping episode of ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11,’ as celebs explored new dance realms during the ‘Pehli Baar’ special-themed episodes. The judges, who included Farah Khan, Arshad Warsi, and Malaika Arora, scored the contestants in a scoring format for the first time.

Aamir Ali, who has marked a powerful return to television with the show, attempted Waltz for the first time. Performing on the timeless romantic track ‘Pehla Nasha‘ originally choreographed by Farah Khan added a layer of nostalgia and emotion to the spectacle.

Executing intricate footwork, seamless lifts, and establishing chemistry with his choreographer, Sneha Singh, Aamir’s stunning performance resonated with the audience and the judges.

Farah, who originally choreographed the song, was very impressed with the performance. Lauding Aamir’s performance, Farah said:

“This song is very close to my heart. This is the first song for which I received recognition. So when someone performs this song, it can go in either direction. But today, it was very sweet and nice. You held back my respect (tune meri laj rakh di). Both of you look wonderful together.”

The ace choreographer further commented,

“Aamir, when you perform a waltz with a girl, she becomes the centerpiece, especially with her flowing dress and the lifts, but today, you are the centerpiece. You didn’t let the focus shift from yourself, it was sweet and goofy. The timing was excellent in the rotations. Last week, you seemed a bit nervous, but today you looked confident. As I said before, a hero is a hero, and today you performed like a star. This was a Tehelka performance.”

Malaika, who was equally mesmerised by the act, said:

“My heart is happy after watching both of you. Your transitions were very smooth and seamless, a huge improvement from last week. I’ve said it before, you’re here to prove a point, and if you continue working and dancing like this, you’ll not only win our hearts but also the love of your fans.” Arshad also expressed, “It was a mind-blowing performance.”
