Akhil Vaid will be seen in the upcoming show, Gauna: Ek Pratha, that will soon go on air in Shemaroo. The actor plays the role of Dheeraj Thakur, who is a part of the fiction produced by Yash Patnaik and Mamta Patnaik’s Inspire Films.
“I need to explore more as we have not started shooting yet but as far as I know Dheeraj has many shades. It will be interesting to portray a character like him,” he continues, “As far as I have understood the psyche of the character, I do relate to him. In fact, at times I feel like Dheeraj is more like me.”
Akhil is hoping for the best as far as this new project is concerned. He is also excited to collaborate with Yash and Mamta’s team.
“My expectation for Gauna… is that it will become the best show on Shemaroo. We are ready to work hard as a team in all ways and of course we need the blessing of Almighty to help us achieve success,” he says, adding that the team and producers are absolutely fantastic.
The TV industry has evolved over the years. About the changes he has seen in the industry, he adds,
“The TV audience has become matured, they know what they want and it’s now content driven. If the story, presentation and performances are good, then the audience will definitely watch as well as love the project. It’s no longer star-driven these days.”
OTT has given competition to TV. Agreeing he says,
“Again OTT is content driven. Even though it is short in episodes, it is specific because the audience wants new things all the time. Also the reach is wider in terms of how it caters to a global audience.”
Given the kind of industry they are in, work schedules often take a toll on one’s health. So one wonders how Akhil unwinds.
“Nothing much, I chant the holy name every second, 24/7. It infuses positivity into my soul and mind. It’s like my energy booster,” adds the actor.
Akhil Vaid has also been a part of shows such as Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hain, Badho Bahu and Jodha Akbar and film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.
