In all these years, Anil Kapoor has become a masterclass on staying relevant and reinventing your craft. For over forty years, he hasn’t just witnessed the shifting tides of Indian cinema—he has driven them.

From the raw, vulnerable newcomer in Woh 7 Din to the scene-stealing force in global hits, his trajectory is less of a standard career and more of a love letter to the silver screen.
He stands today not just as a stalwart, but as a defining Cinema Icon who is humble about his blessings.
Recently as his film Woh 7 Din completed 43 years, Anil Kapoor penned an emotional note on Instagram. Reflecting on his journey, Anil Kapoor wrote, “43 years of Woh 7 Din. Some films stay with you forever. For me, this will always be one of them.
I have said it earlier and I’ll always say it, that I am grateful to Padmini Kolhapure and Naseeruddin Shah. I always miss them a little extra when it comes to celebrating Woh 7 Din.”

“If it wasn’t for them, I don’t think I’d be celebrating these 43 years today. They made a newcomer like me feel welcome and gave me the confidence I needed to connect with the audience.
A big thank you to the Great and Late #BapuSaab for also believing in me and directing me, #KBhagyaraj for writing such a beautiful story, and to my father #Surinder Kapoor and my brother Boney Kapoor for believing in me and producing the film. Before Woh 7 Din, I had done a few films, but this was the one that truly introduced me to all of you. It gave me my first real chance to be seen, to be accepted, and to begin this incredible journey. Forever grateful,” Anil Kapoor added.
It is this exact perspective that humanizes him. He doesn’t look at his four decades at the top as an achievement of solo grit, but rather as a beautiful partnership with his audience. And he doesn’t stop to entertain. Up next, Anil Kapoor will be seen on Alpha, and in Dragon. He will also host a reality show on TV called India Ke Top 1 percent.
A Cinema Icon in the true sense, right?
