The year 2022, can easily be said as Tabu’s year as she was part of the two most successful films of the year, Bhool Bhulaiya and Drishyam 2.
Tabu is one of the brave actors in the industry who has delivered a range of performances in her career. She has never played unsure characters, you can always see her playing characters who know exactly what they want.
Be it in Andhadhun as Simi, where she is not a typical villain but kept all of us on the edge of our seats till the end of the film. Or a double role portrayal as Anjulika and Manjulika which was nothing less than a visual treat that cemented her yet again to be one of the finest actors in the industry.
In Tabu’s latest film Drishyam 2 we cannot help but marvel at the power she holds as Meera Deshmukh.
She had played her role as IG Meera Deshmukh flawlessly, in Drishyam 1. And in the second installment of the series too she hasn’t failed to amaze the fans with just how well she blended the two roles.
She gets into the psyche of the character and she’s so seamless that her performance doesn’t even feel like acting anymore. We still get goosebumps each time we witness the antagonism that Ajay and Tabu have in the Drishyam series.
Tabu has a way in which she subtly brings in menace to the femininity of her characters and it is certainly an unmatched feat. Be it Drishyam, or any other movie that she has been a part of, her characters have always made their presence felt.
Tabu is and will always continue to be the reigning queen of intelligent acting. This year proves to be that she is the only actress in her league to deliver a powerful performance and at the same time have commercial success.
