RRR’s ‘Naatu Naatu’ Will Compete For Oscars 2023

SS Rajamouli’s epic work, RRR, will compete in key categories for the Oscars in 2023. The song “Naatu Naatu” from the film has been nominated for Best Original Song. According to the worldwide journal Variety, the song is one of the top five finalists in the category.

“Naatu Naatu” was touted as the “mass anthem” when it was initially released, and it did become a singalong following the film’s release. The song, which features Jr NTR and Ram Charan, has earned legendary status, and fans have attempted to emulate the two actors’ camaraderie in numerous Instagram videos. Lyricist Chandrabose wrote the song, which was performed by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava.

“Naatu Naatu” is expected to compete with songs by Mel Brooks, Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, Jazmine Sullivan, and Diane Warren, according to Variety.

As RRR was recently presented at the Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles as part of the Beyond Fest, people danced in front of the screen when the song “Naatu Naatu” played. Several videos of the same incident have been uploaded online.

RRR has been nominated for several awards, including Best Picture, Best Director (Rajamouli), Best Actor (Jr NTR and Ram Charan), Screenplay, Original Song, Score, Editing, Cinematography, Sound, Production Design, and VFX, to name a few. Alia Bhatt will compete for Best Supporting Actress, while Ajay Devgn will compete for Best Supporting Actor.

RRR was warmly welcomed in India at its initial release. It earned rave reviews from fans and reviewers, which resulted into massive box office results. Now it will be intriguing to see if the picture can make an impression on the Oscars jury.
