Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am an urban music artist from Toronto Canada. I have worked with and collaborated with: Roach Killa, RDB (Manj Musik), Tigerstyle, Juggy D, Apache Indian, Deep Jandu, Bikram Singh, Aman Hayer. Me and Roach Killa opened the door and established the name for Canadian artists in the UK. I was featured on the Gully Boy Bollywood movie soundtrack.

When did you started and realized your passion as an artist?
In elementary school, I would often misbehave and my teachers noticed a had a talent for music/performing. As an incentive for behaving in school, my teachers would let me perform in front of the class at the end of each day. Later, in high school, I made a demo and Punjabi MC came across it. He spread the word in UK and played it. As a result, I started getting emails/calls from labels and radio stations requesting my music. I finally packed my bags an headed to the UK to spend many yrs working in the music business.

Tell us about the song “goriye” on “gullyboy” and how do feel to be in such a big project?
Basically, I was in Italy over the summer and received an email from Prem & Hardip which are the producers of the song. They stated they had been fans of mine for a long time and specifically referenced my track “t-t-tigerstyle” which was produced by Scottish producers tiger style.

I was told they wanted my vocal tone/energy on a new track they were working on for an upcoming Bollywood film. I was originally skeptical but agreed to hear the song. The original Version I received in late August/ early September had Arjun & Kala’s vocals on it with empty portions for a rap feature. The song instantly gave me the vibe of Bruno Mars “uptown funk”. I recorded my vocals at my engineers home studio where we had the vocal booth set up in a walk-in closet. It’s crazy to imagine something I recorded in a closet is now in a movie receiving radio play worldwide. I was advised to keep the song a secret until the soundtrack was released. The first time I actually heard the completed song with Desi ma on it was upon the soundtrack release. I’m definitely happy about the outcome, it’s been getting a great response around the world. It’s an honor to be the only Punjabi rapper from North America featured on such a pivotal film for the Indian hip-hop movement.

What is the ultimate success for you?
Ultimate success is to simply be happy in life. I surround me with family/friends and appreciate every moment. I don’t really care for materialistic objects.

Who is your role model/influencer?

I don’t have a role model…me and Roach was the first from our city to create urban desi music and travel the world creating a name for Toronto. We paved our own path, however; in regards to influencers, I’ve always admired Richard Branson and Russell Simmons. They both were entrepreneurs that took chances and came from nothing.

Talk about your upcoming projects.
Currently, I am featured on the gully boy Bollywood soundtrack. Up next I have a 5 song ep with British producer D-Boy and singer Vaz. The project’s first single features Roach Killa, Apache Indian, and Deep Jandu. I will be featured on a single titled “Bang Bang” from Roach Killa’s new album to release this spring. We will be filming 4 music videos in March to be released over the next few months. I am working on a few projects which will be revealed in the upcoming months.

“Hard work trumps talent when talent fails to work hard”

Five years from now you will be?
I’ll be making music lol. Regardless if I have a huge fanbase or not…its my passion and its something I will continue to do for the rest of my life.

If I was to turn on your music playlist right now? What five artist/songs would I see on the recently played list?
Hmm, that’s a great question..lemme check lol. The 5 most recent songs have I’ve been playing a lot lately are:
