Atul Manjrekar Says Anil Kapoor Was Always In His Mind for Fanney Khan

Atul Manjrekar ‘s Fanney Khan starring Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao, Divya Dutta, and Pihu Sand, trailer was released a few days back and has already created a buzz all over social media.

Director Atul Manjrekar, who is all set to release his upcoming film Fanney Khan Starring Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Rajkummar Rao on 3rd August 2018, during media interactions, spoke about the casting of his film and what made him get Pihu on board.

How did you come up with the casting?

“Its a very a interesting thing. So when I was writing it, Anil Kapoor sir was always there. The story was written keeping him in mind.I think so when anyone is writing a script you have a wishlist and you think about that wishlist when you write a story or about any character. I have my wishlist. So except for Pihu, I had the rest in my wishlist and that is how I casted them.”

 

What quality did you see in Pihu?

“We were hunting for Pihu’s character even internationally. We looked in Canada even in US. It went on till 10 months.Then we shortlisted about 8-10 of them. Mukesh Chhabra our casting director he did a workshop with these girls  and then I got in and then even I had done a workshop with them. The thing that I looked about Pihu was that she was so real. She was not acting. She was just right. This film is a very honest film about real people, so that is why I casted her.”
