The Pakistani cricketer talks about his experience working on his upcoming film ‘Money Back Guarantee’.
1. Who was your favorite actor to work with in this production?
It has to be Fawad Khan! Fawad is the most well-known Pakistani actor in the world and he has brought so much attention to not only our industry but also our country. It was a pleasure to work with him as he has remained very dedicated and humble throughout his successful career.
2. What was the most challenging aspect of curating your character for this movie?
He is a man who is not at all what he seems, he holds his secrets and cards close to his chest, so I knew that I had to keep my performance subtle yet layered. But the biggest challenge for me was memorizing my lines, which I am glad I could overcome.
3. What does being a part of ‘Money Back Guarantee’ mean to you?
It means so much that I get to be a part of Money Back Guarantee! I am so glad that Pakistani cinema has grown so much in recent years and that because of international production houses like Zashko Films, we finally get the resources we need to bring both Pakistani stories and Pakistani talent to a global audience. I hope MBG will create many opportunities for Pakistani talent and creatives alike and leave a long-lasting legacy in the Pakistani film industry.
4. What was your favourite thing about working on set?
Getting to work with my old friend Faisal Qureshi again as well as meeting and working with some of the best talents Pakistan has to offer was definitely a highlight for me. I believe in this film, both the story and what it means in the grand scheme of things for Lollywood, and I am grateful to be a part of it.
5. Do you see yourself in a similar role in the future?
Yes, absolutely. I’ve said in interviews before that this sort of role is perfect for me as my schedule can run a bit tight sometimes. So I’d rather be a part of an ensemble cast like this again than do something that would be more time-consuming.
6. In your opinion, what was the best acting scene in the film?
There are so many, especially Fawad’s scenes which are very entertaining and humorous but also intimidating and nerve-racking. But honestly, I’d rather you go see it for yourself in a movie theater near you when MBG releases worldwide on April 21st 2023!
