After this film, Aamir is ready to impress fans with the Hindi remake of the Tamil film Vikram Vedha. The 2017 blockbuster starred Vijay Sethupathi and R Madhavan in lead roles. The former played a dreaded gangster while the latter played a cop. In the remake, there are speculations that Aamir Khan is said to be playing the gangster while Saif Ali Khan will play the cop.
The remake will be directed by Pushkar and Gayatri, the husband-wife director duo who had helmed the original. The story of the film was inspired by the Indian folktale Baital Pachisi (Vedhala Kadhai in Tamil), which is about King Vikramaditya and the spirit Vetaal, thus giving the movie and the lead actors the names Vikram and Vedha.
A source, while talking about the film, stated to leading daily, “The film has been scheduled to go on the floors in April next year. Both Aamir, who kicks off Laal Singh Chaddha on November 1, and Saif, who’s Jawaani Jaaneman and Tandav are in the pipeline, are expected to finish their respective commitments by then. Considering the film doesn’t require any specific preparation, the makers are planning to complete the shooting in two-three months. The recce for the film is likely to begin in January in Lucknow and Hyderabad.”
